In 2012 Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) of the University of Sussex, United Kingdom moved from the Freeman Centre to the brand new Jubilee Building and following the relocation, SPRU donated large part of its library to Sudan. World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) took the initiative to provide the logistics to move SPRU library to the University of Khartoum and the Red Sea State Public Library (picture) in Sudan. This massive operation (31st May 2013) required the volunteers from the University of Sussex (pictures: Austin Brown, Emily Cox, Dr. Min-Hua Tsai, Dr. Claudia Ruiz Garcia and Dr. Michele Stua) to upload 375 boxes of books in less than 2 hours into the truck. After two months, the shipment arrived at Sudan Port and divided into two for the two universities. The two libraries are now severing thousands of student from Sudan and neighbouring countries.
